Mental health counseling for adults in Texas
About My Practice
Who I work with
I work with adults navigating a variety of experiences, but I primarily focus on relationship challenges, grief/loss, self-worth, anxiety, and depression.
My counseling style
My counseling style aligns with who I am personally: deeply relational with a good mix of serious and lighthearted. I believe that having another bear witness to the most painful parts of our stories is like balm for our souls. And I believe laughter is, too. During our sessions, you will find a healthy dose of both. Whatever it is that brings you to counseling, my priority is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for you to show up exactly as you are.
My counseling approach
I help others identify and work through beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that get in the way of personal, relational, and spiritual growth. I provide practical tools to help you in the present, while also exploring your past and how that might be impacting your present.
Modalities I use
I understand that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I pull from a variety of techniques & modalities depending on your specific goals and needs. Most of my experience is in trauma-informed counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness approaches, faith-integrated therapy, attachment-based therapy, and person-centered therapy. While my counseling is offered from a Christian worldview, I am not limited to faith-based therapy and welcome people of all backgrounds. In all of my work, there is a heavy emphasis on compassion and curiosity.
About Me
I'm Leslie Friday, a counselor and as human as they come. I have experienced firsthand the beauty and pain of life, and I love walking alongside others as they navigate the same. I’m originally from east Texas but my studies brought me to Austin back in 2008. Hook ‘em! In my free time, I enjoy being outside and getting sunshine, exercising, lake days, yummy food with even better company, riding bikes, playing volleyball, golfing (terribly), and anything that involves quality time with my family and friends. In 2022, I married my husband Damon - he is my favorite person in the world and the most interesting person I have ever met. In 2024, we became parents to our beloved son and he is the absolute light of our lives!
